Brew Urban Café, just when you thought you couldn’t find the perfect local coffee shop

Coffee shops.  They are everywhere.  They are all different. And they are NOT all good.  There’s the usual Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts, but those are monster chains you will find—seriously—on every street corner.  So when you’re looking for a great local coffee shop, it can become quite challenging to find one with a good atmosphere and amazing coffee.  But once you find a local little gem, you are set.  This is the way I see it…the feeling you get when you get the most delicious cup of coffee ever is right up there with the feeling of overwhelming excitement when your order of french fries from Wendy’s or McDonalds comes out piping hot, slightly crunchy (well I like them super crunchy) and lightly salted.  Yeah, it’s awesome.

It wasn’t until last year that I found a local coffee shop I could honestly say has the best cup of coffee I have ever and probably will ever have (Ben agrees by the way so it’s not just me).  Brew Urban Café is the perfect little gem you could ask for when it comes to coffee shops (and I know you’ve been looking for one because who doesn’t want to say they go to a local indie coffee shop on the regular).  They brew Intelligentsia Coffee that makes the coffee at other shops taste like charcoal—gross I know.

Remember my coffee and cinnamon post?  Well, the first time I put cinnamon in my coffee was at Brew Urban Café.  So not only do they have the best coffee ever but they are also where I discovered my favorite coffee combination—extra brownie points for them.  But wait.  There’s more.   They have a cozy atmosphere and plenty of places to lounge.  There are high tables, low tables, outside tables, comfy couches, comfy chairs and a really nicely decorated Women’s restroom (weird to give that a shout out I know, but I took a picture—to the right—at their Victoria Park location so you can see what I’m talking about).  But wait again, there’s even more!  The first time I ever went, they gave me a frequent buyer card (picture below) that gives you a free coffee after 9 purchases.  And today, we got a free coffee!  Okay, one more thing I swear—they have vegan friendly options!  I got one of my best friends (she’s vegan) one of their vegan truffles and she swears by them.

So if you’re sick of the chains and want to go local, go to Brew Urban Café.  If you’re not in Fort Lauderdale, I’m sorry I have tempted you with this post, but the next time you’re in South Florida, stop in, grab a cup of coffee and put some cinnamon in it (say that ten times fast—yikes)

Love,
Hannah

P.S. I didn’t have my camera when Ben and I went to their location at Victoria Park for some coffee this morning.  I had to use my cell phone for the pictures below, so pardon the quality!
