Random Thoughts Part 4 (last one)

Random Thoughts 35-44:

35. I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV.  There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?

36. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?  Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail.  What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

37. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

38. When I meet a new girl (or boy), I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking.

39. I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

40. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

41. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

42. Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

43. I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

44. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

Fiesta Friday – The Zing Zang Bloody Mary

Before the Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix found its way to my taste buds, I hated bloody maries (marys? How would I do that?).   Granted, I used to despise the taste of tomatoes, so the thought of a tomato based juice with liquor in it was very unappetizing.  But several years ago, I went with Ben to his family’s Thanksgiving Reunion where I tasted my first Zing Zang Bloody Mary.  Having my first Zing Zang changed the way I felt about having a Bloody Mary.  The mix has just the amount of spice (the zing zang I guess) and the perfect amount of tomato blended into it.  As long as you make it right it will be the best-tasting Bloody Mary you will ever have.   Squeeze a small slice of lime and stick a stalk of celery (a few leaves on top make it look cool) in your glass and you are good to go! 

No more watery or cry your eyes out spicy Bloody Maries with this on the shelf.   I have to admit I’m a bit of a Bloody Mary snob.  If it’s not Zing Zang, I’m not having it!

Guest Blogger ~ Amy!

So when Hannah created her new blog Love Little Gems, I flipped! My life in medical school has been more than depressing this past year, and everyday I struggle to find the little gems and smile at them. But Hannah's new blog has been such a little gem itself. I look forward to reading it everyday during my 30 minutes of playing on the computer after class and lunch, before I start studying. The entries never fail to make me smile and remind me to always appreciate the small things in life. (I'm blushing, NBD)

So when I raved about the new creation to Hannah, she suggested a guest appearance (yeah that's right, writing out your positive thoughts really makes you feel good)...I also love little gems, and boy did I struggle with what to write about. Snail mail, Target (I feel ya, Hannah!), my new shades that I am obsessed with wearing, homemade cookies (mama hempels..yum), Starbucks coffee (my treat on the weekend)...but I ultimately decided on SNOW! I LOVE snow. I know you hate it Hannah (you know me too well, but it's pretty to look at from a warm room I guess), but seriously, snow never fails to put a smile on my face. I can be in the worst mood, and as soon as the magical white flakes begin falling from the sky, all my stress melts away and I get caught up in the wonder and beauty of the snow :) (she's not kidding about this, I always get an excited text or call when it's snowing)

Okay, I love bows (which you would know based on the scrub top I put on FB!).  Not to mention, I wore a cute on on NYE.  Today, I was on the All Women Stalk Blog and a new article on bows was posted!  Yay!  I'm not the only one!

Charming Charlie Part 2

Yes, another hair piece…a headband this time though!  Charming Charlie’s headbands range from gorgeous to cute, so you can have one for any occasion/outfit.  I actually bought a couple of their head bands for one of my best friends, Jayne, for her birthday last month.  I don’t want to brag or anything, but let's just say she wore both the weekend of her birthday.  There are pictures to prove it!

I love this black and yellow faux-feather headband because it adds a splash of my favorite color (yellow—actually I have a lot of favorite colors, but the day I wore this it was yellow) to an outfit.   I’m actually starting to notice a trend in my clothing style (besides cardigans, Jodi)…I like to have a simple style with at least one statement-making piece (or what I consider statement making haha).   When I say piece, I mean it can be a pair of earrings, shoes, scarf, headband…anything that goes with an outfit.  Heck, a purse even!

SAG Awards ~ The "Oooohs!" and "Uggghsss"

Awards season continues with the SAG Awards on Sunday night!  Out of all the images I saw, only one dress I can actually say was incredible.  And that was January Jones in Carolina Herrera.  A few others...Lea Michele and Natalie Portman...get a thumbs up, but really, nothing that special!  But that's okay, the worse they dress, the better I can comment.

Here are a bunch of highlights:

Clair Danes in Louis Vitton.  Is that a belt?  With a buckle?  Okay, Hocus Pocus.  Pretty sure I thought the heavy-dudy belt worn on the outside of an outfit was stylish in the 90s--keyword thought.  It wasn't.

Diana Argon in Chanel Haute Couture.  This "Glee"star needs a new stylist.  The only thing cute about this dress is the bow.  The bottom hem?  Need to take a lawnmower to it.
